Yes, You are Seeing 90’s Fashion All Over Amarillo
No, you are not losing your mind or having flashbacks. Lately I have been noticing that a certain fashion trend is making a comeback. A fashion trend I gladly welcome back.
It seems that the the 90's are making their way back into 2018 by the way of fashion.
I'm not going to lie to you I'm a 90's girl through and through and I cannot be more happy about the fashion coming back.
I was at an event with Braden and Shannon the other day and we kept seeing young women walk by in bell bottoms. Now I know those were a thing of the late 60's and early 70's but the resurgence happened in the 90's with a special cut of the bell. I kept seeing them and jokingly told them "hey, I have a few pair of those in storage from when I was in high school." However, thinking back I believed they were called wide-leg pants.
Now I keep seeing people walking around in overalls with one strap unhooked. Plus, a friend on Facebook posted some pictures last night of some dresses in a department store that were cut straight out of the dELiA*s catalog, (and yes, dELiA*s still exists and has an online store). The infamous baby doll dresses. Not to mention it the mini skirt is back as well. I'm still waiting for the corduroy.
I'll be the first to tell you that I am in no way the fashionista and I don't pay attention to the latest trends. I'm a jeans an t-shirts girl all the way. However, doing some research online I found that some of the 90's fashions coming back are the animal backpacks, platform sneakers, slip dresses, track suits, baby doll dresses, and cargo pants. That is just a few of the fashions.
I can't help but say, I'm excited about the fashion returning. Honestly some of the 90's fashion can stay in the 90's but the cute fun fashion, I'm all about returning to the forefront. You know, things like flannel. Oh and bring on the Doc Martens.
I loved my Doc Martens and I would still have them today if someone hadn't stolen them from me. I'm still hurt over that. They were one of a kind and I loved them.
I am looking forward to this resurging fashion trend. Yes, I'll be that 40+ mom rocking the overalls, the flannels and Doc Martens. However, I will probably draw the line at the slip dresses and crop tops.
But, for the love of all things holy and good, please, please, please don't bring back the scrunchies.
