You’ll Want To Take An Umbrella In Amarillo, Texas This Mother’s Day

This honestly should not be a surprise for anyone in Amarillo, Texas. We have Mother's Day coming up, and many of us have plans of some kind with the mom in our lives. Unfortunately, if those plans involve anything outdoors you'll probably want to pack an umbrella or move inside. Yes, there's a chance for rain this weekend.

Will It Rain In Amarillo, Texas On Mother's Day 2024?

The National Weather Service Amarillo posted an update earlier today on social media about our rain chances this weekend. It's a little bittersweet. We need rain and all of us are glad that there's a chance for it; even if it's going to be on Mother's Day.

The good news is that it's not expected to just rain straight through the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, we should probably expect the rain to be on again off again like a couple of high school sweethearts.

There's even the chance we could see some thunderstorms. As long as they don't turn severe, I'm hoping I get to take a long nap on Saturday or Sunday to a thunderstorm. That's pretty much what I live for this time of year. Those are the best naps you'll ever get.

What To Do If Your Mother's Day Plans Get Rained Out

There is plenty happening around Amarillo this weekend to celebrate our moms. If you're planning for something outside and it gets rained out, there are plenty of indoor options. Take mom bowling, or to an arcade. Take her to see a movie and you can celebrate mom while getting in your nap. There are plenty of options.
