By now you should know that I am a self-proclaimed Sci-Fi geek. So, I was really excited to find out that CBS and Image Entertainment had decided to start releasing "The Twilight Zone" on Blu-Ray. So far, they have released the first 3 seasons, but the "geek" in me really came out when I saw all the extra and special features that were attached to each set.As a birthday present, to myself, I ordered Season 1 from Amazon because, for some reason, they aren't being sold anywhere in the stores locally. The first season, which originally aired in 1959, featured all 36 episodes. Some of the great actors and soon to be great, were featured during the season; Earl Holliman (Police Woman), Martin Landau (Mission Impossible), Burgess Meredith (Batman's "The Penquin") and many others.

But let's take a look at some of the "Special Features."

First off, a rare, never-before-released unofficial pilot episode, hosted by (of all people) Dezi Arnaz. Also, 19 commentaries from "The Twilight Zone Companion" author Marc Scott Zicree, (yes, I own that book),along with a film and music historian and some of the actors from select episodes. There is also 18 radio drama versions and the "promos" for next week's episodes.

In total, there is over 15 1/2 hours of time to spend in that fifth dimension of sight and sound. I haven't even scratch the surface of this collection, but am already saving my money for Season 2.
