We haven't recently seen temperatures reach into the 80s in Amarillo, Texas. We've enjoyed days that feel like late spring and early summer. That all could change with the end of the week bringing possible snow and colder temperatures that take us right back to winter.

How Much Snow Is Amarillo, Texas Expecting At The End Of The Week

While the panhandle grapples with wildfires that have caused an incredible amount of devastation, there is a possibility portions of our area could see snow.

The National Weather Service is saying that we could see rain, and possibly snow, on Thursday. While the amount of snow isn't anything too extreme, it is a little crazy when you think about the temperatures we've enjoyed recently.

The old joke is that if you don't like the weather in the panhandle, just wait a minute. They weren't kidding. It looks like we've touched all four seasons in a week.

Remember To Be Prepared For Winter Weather

While the forecasts aren't calling for any kind of major winter weather event, it's always a good idea to be prepared just in case. Digital billboards in Amarillo earlier today warned motorists that crews were prepping the roads. If the roads need to be prepped, so do we.

Make sure you have your emergency kit in your vehicle stocked with what you would need in order to stay warm in case something were to happen. Make sure you have plenty of fuel in your vehicle before leaving it parked overnight. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to leave a faucet dripping...just in case.

Hopefully, you haven't put your heavy winter coats away yet. You'll need them to close out the week.
