3 Arrested in Connection With Fire at the Old Ambassador Hotel
Three youths have been placed under arrest in connection with the April 14 fire that occurred at the old Ambassador Hotel at 3100 E I-40 in Amarillo.
A media release from Fire Marshall Jacob Diaz stated that the individuals were placed under arrest by the Amarillo Fire Marshall's Office on Tuesday, April 19th. The arrests are a result of the investigation conducted in the wake of the high-profile three-alarm fire that ravaged the empty building.
According to Diaz, the youths have been booked into the High Plains Youth Center on charges of arson. In the state of Texas, arson is a second degree felony that is punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and/or imprisonment ranging from two to 20 years for each offense.
Additionally, the Fire Marshall's Office extended gratitude to the Amarillo Police Department's School Liaison and Juvenile Divisions for the assistance given in the investigation.
