Amarillo Bulls Add 10 Year Old To Team Roster This Saturday
The Amarillo Bulls are adding a new team member to the roster for this Saturday's game. 10-year-old Micah Gallegos will join the hockey team for one game only as the Bulls take on the Topeka Pilots. Micah is from here in Amarillo and was formerly diagnosed with Philadelphia Chromosome positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia, has finished his final treatments and celebrates all things sports-related. Through the Make A Wish organization, the Bulls will honor Micah's battle against the disease as the 24th member of their squad.
As the newest team member to the Amarillo Bulls, Micah will have a busy Saturday. He will be introduced to his new team mates easy in the morning, then tour the locker room, get fitted for his official jersey, and join the team for breakfast. Then it's onto the ice to start practice. To make his joining the team official, he will be part of a contract signing press conference later in the morning at 11am. He will then be an official member of the Amarillo team. Then it's on to take questions from the media and reporters.
After lunch with his teammates, the coaches, and staff, Micah will be preparing for the game with the team as they go through the routines and what is needed to be an Amarillo Bull player. At gametime, Micah will be on the ice with the team for introductions and will be names the "7th Player." The will join the team on the bench for the game against the Pilots. Puck drops at 7:05pm Saturday night at the Civic Center, come down and cheer Micah on!
