The Make-A-Wish Car Show has been a staple in Amarillo for 37 years.  Each year the Panhandle Council of Car Clubs, puts on this amazing car show and funds raised for the event will go to Make-A-Wish.  Over 300 cars are on show at this event, and since it's inception for Make-A-Wish, has raised over $1.2 million dollars.

If you have never been to the Make-A-Wish Car Show, this show takes up most of the Amarillo Civic Center.  It's a fantastic event.

You'll see every kind of car from every era.  You'll see hot rods, classic cars, kit cars, trucks and much more.

Even if you aren't into cars, you'll still enjoy this event.  You'll learn about the different cars, plus you'll have a chance to chat with some of the owners, about the cars.   Who knows, you might leave this event a car lover.

If you would like to get your car registered to be a party of the car show there is still time. Cost is $60.

How much does the average wish cost?

The average wish costs between $5,000 - $10,000.

How many wishes were granted in the area last year?

Nine wishes were granted in the Texas Panhandle, and 161 in the North Texas Chapter which includes Amarillo.

The Polk Street Cruise is a beloved annual event where classic cars of all make and models slink across Downtown Amarillo for a crowd of bystanders to admire. And like many other events across the globe, the Polk Street Cruise skipped 2020 amid Covid-19 restrictions.

But nothing would stop this year's event, not even cloudy skies and rain. Amarillo's renowned Polk Street Cruise was on August, 7, 2021 and had a tremendous turnout. Did we happen to see you there?
