Brace Yourself For Another Arctic Blast In Amarillo, Texas

The National Weather Service Amarillo put out information today about another round of potentially brutal weather heading our way. According to them, we could be hit with an Arctic front next week.


Once again we potentially find ourselves facing brutally cold temperatures. Make sure you have plans in place now for what you're going to do to stay warm. Make sure your pipes are protected. Get an emergency kit for the car. You should know what to do by now.

Another Round Of Winter Weather In An Already Frozen 2025

This year has already been tough when it comes to winter weather. We've had record-breaking snowfall. We've even had the snow squall warning activated for the first time in history.

I had a pipe burst during the last round of extreme winter weather we experienced. The same day as the snow squall warning, I had to fight through a flooded backyard to turn off the water to my house and then struggle to find a plumber after hours.

Preparation is the key. Even though it may not be guaranteed, just the possibility of below-average temps and winter weather should be enough to inspire us all to get ready. As we learned with that record-breaking snowfall, things can get worse than expected quickly in the Texas panhandle.

Keep an eye on forecasts over the next couple of days so you don't get surprised. Keep your winter clothes handy, and prepare for some cold days ahead. Sounds like that groundhog might have been right.
