Heading to work this morning at 4 AM, there wasn't any snow really to speak of. That had changed by 7 AM. The snow had started falling and sticking, and coworkers mentioned some slick spots they found on their way in to the office.

Be careful today (2/2) and tomorrow (2/3).

Winter Storm In The Texas Panhandle

We're all pretty aware by now that we're expecting some winter weather through tomorrow. Expected snow totals are higher in the northeastern part of the Texas panhandle.

The National Weather Service Amarillo had this update posted this morning:

It's Only Going To Get Colder

Tomorrow (Thursday 2/3) wind chills are going to dip into negative territory. As they state in their update, you'll want to take some extra precautions tomorrow.

Cover up thoroughly. Don't leave skin exposed to the elements. Cover up with gloves, hats, scarves, coats, face coverings...you get the idea.

Thinking About The Winter Storm Of 2021

The forecast has a lot of people thinking about last year. There's been a lot of talk about the energy grid in Texas. In Oklahoma, Governor Stitt declared a state of emergency for all 77 of their counties. He did it well ahead of any winter weather, based on the forecasts.

The good news is that it looks like we'll see some warmer weather sooner rather than later as we head into next week. Fingers crossed.
