I swear, when it rains it pours right?

Or I guess in this case, when it snows...it blows?

A few weeks back when we got our first DECENT snow of the year, I went out to my car to start it up and head into the the office. Whirrrrr, whirrrr....nothing.

You guessed it, battery dead. Now, I'll be the first to admit the battery in my car had been in there for some time, and I was probably due for a new one anyway. No problem, I'll have the wife drop me at work then we'll get a battery afterwards.

So I had to wait a couple days to look for one thanks to my kids baseball practices sandwiched right there in the middle of the week. I figure it won't be a big deal.

Well, it was. I start searching for one towards the end of the week. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch to be found in the city. Of course my first check was Walmart. I've NEVER had a problem finding a battery for my car there. Always in stock.

Not this time. I'm not just talking about one Walmart, I'm talking about ALL of them from Amarillo to Canyon. Ok, I'm gonna have to pivot and look at auto parts stores. I'm going to have to pay a little bit more, but it's ok. I need a battery.

Start checking around at those places. Again, there is NOTHING to be found. What is happening? Apparently I'm not the only one who lost their battery when the snow and cold freeze came in.

Ok, I'll wait a few days and grab one when these places restock. No problem, right?

Yeah, then the temps drop down to single digits for a couple days overnight, and we get around 4 inches of snow. Guess what? Yeah, more dead car batteries. I feel like I should just give up.

From what I've been told, the battery my car needs is the most popular one used, so they flew off the shelves. I finally just decided to order one, but who else is running into this problem? It's annoying if you ask me!
