The Capitol Tree this year is coming from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada. The tree's name is Silver Bell, and it is a 53-foot-tall red fir.

Silver Bell is crossing the nation and making several stops along the way. These stops feature family entertainment, an opportunity to sign the tree's banner, and the opportunity to get your picture taken with "The People's Tree".

There will also be a tree giveaway as part of the event. Amarillo Parks and Recreation will be handing out 500 trees.
