In 2009, Best Buy launched "Best Buy Mobile" stores in malls and shopping complexes throughout the country. But the company has announced that with the changing retail landscape, they will be shutting all 250 of it's small-format stores by the end of May. One of those stores is currently open inside the Westgate Mall here in Amarillo.

A memo shared from Best Buy's CEO states that there will be an effort to retain all employees from those smaller stores. Most of the small stores are located within 3 miles of one of their larger box stores. Currently, the Best Buy Mobile stores only count for 1% of the companies overall revenue.
