If your plan was to get a jump start on Black Friday shopping and hit the stores on Thanksgiving night, you are going to find some popular Amarillo shopping spots with locked doors. The trend the last few years was for businesses to open later in the day on Thanksgiving and kick off their big Black Friday sales. However, it looks like many employees will be getting a chance to enjoy their entire Thanksgiving day off this year.

According to a study done by Google and published at BestBlackFriday.com, 72% of people say stores should be closed on Thanksgiving. Only 14% said they believe stores should be open and that they plan on shopping. The other 14% said that while they think stores should be open, they will not be shopping.
