Big Stamp Out Stigma Event In Amarillo This Saturday
Looking for something to do this weekend? I've got it for you right here.
Saturday, September 11th it's the Stamp Out Stigma Suicide Prevention event at John Stiff Memorial Park. The event is being hosted by the Texas Panhandle Suicide Prevention Coalition.
The event will run from 12-4pm and will have all sorts of different things going on at it. Out by the gazebo in the park, you'll find all sorts of food trucks to whet your appetite. There will be a community fair going on with activities, shopping, live music and a whole lot more.
However, prior to all the fun beginning, there will be a walk entitled the "SOS Walk" around John Stiff Memorial Park. There is a cost associated with the walk of $20, but all proceeds will go right back into the organization to keep helping others.
This event is all about focusing on health and wellness while connecting with others. We've dealt with quite a bit in the last 18 months, and mental wellness is something that has been very front of mind for a lot of people.
Prior to the pandemic though, a lot of us didn't understand how important our mental wellbeing really was. We used to just brush things off and move on. When you're stuck indoors though, looking at the same four walls constantly, you start to realize it's tough to just brush off.
This event is here to help us all understand mental wellness, how to keep ourselves in the right frame of mind as well as let us know there's always someone there to listen and help us through.
So come on out and enjoy this great event while bettering yourself!
