One of the fun family friendly events that happens in the Fall is the famous St. Mary's Carnival.

It's become a family tradition in Amarillo that mixes Halloween with the zoo. It's Boo at the Zoo and it is such a fun event.

One thing I've never understood about Homecoming Mums is how they continue to get bigger and bigger. Some mums cover the entire body of the young lady wearing them.

The Balloon Rally has become a tradition in Amarillo. Each year the Family Care Foundation and Happy State Bank brings the city a fun 3 days of balloons and family fun. Make plans to bring the family out to enjoy the sights of all the amazing hot air balloons.

During the month of July, the Coffee Memorial Blood Center has been promoting Boots vs. Badges.  Boots vs. Badges is a friendly competition between law enforcement and firefighters.  Each year they compete to see who can get the most blood donation for the blood center.  Then they wrap up the friendly competition with a baseball game.

Get ready to celebrate snakes.  All kinds of snakes, small, medium, large, poisonous snakes, harmless snakes and more, at the Amarillo Zoo.

The Don Harrington Discovery Center celebrates Independence Day with their annual Explode event.  You can celebrate the 4th of July by coming to the Discovery Center on Friday, June 30th.   Bring the entire family out for fun plus exploding experiments.  They will be blowing things up.

One of my favorite things to do is to lay out on a blanket in the grass, or on the trampoline or in the back of a truck on a really clear night and just watch the stars.  The Texas Panhandle has some of the best stars to just gaze at on a summer night.
