CMN is Funded By Your Donations – CMN Gave $30,00 in Travel Grants in April
Children's Miracle Network doesn't just help one or two people here or there, they help countless families month in and month out. I just want to help you understand just how important this organization is to the Texas Panhandle.
Last month, April 2014, CMN was able to make sure over 35 kids were able to get to Dallas and Houston and other larger hospitals to make sure their children receive the treatment to save their life.
$30,000
Think about ,that $30,000 now take that and multiply that by 12. That is $360,000 per year.
That money is given just in travel grants. This doesn't include helping a family with medical bills, this doesn't include paying for prescriptions, this doesn't include the equipment for our hospitals, this doesn't include equipment for kids including wheelchairs, special tools, walkers, etc. That equals up to hundreds of thousands of dollars on top of $360,000.
CMN is funded by donations.
Don't these families have insurance.
Yes, most of them do but a lot of times the insurance companies don't cover everything or only a portion. If you are paying co-pays every day, that is a financial burden on a family.
A trip to Dallas or Houston doesn't cost that much.
Think about planning your summer vacation, take out the fun parts of the vacation and a trip to Dallas or Houston costs $600-$1000. Now take that and multiply it by 2 or 3 or event 6. Some of these familes have to travel back and forth 3 or 4 or 5 times per month. Do you have an extra $5000 to spend on travel? Neither do they, and that doesn't include the time off from work.
Why can't the hospitals pay for their own equipment.
Hospitals can they have a certain budget but that is for the entire hospitals. CMN provides equipment that will help our kids, most of that equipment goes to our rural hospitals like Dalhart, Spearman, and Texas Tech Health Science Centers. These hospitals are not for profit. Which means they don't operate to make money.
Your donation is saving lives. So I encourage you to donate to CMN today.
So many families that I have had the wonderful privilege of talking to over the years have always said that they never thought it would happen to their kids.
These are the beauties that your donations have helped.
