Dreams Can Come True-Chilean Miner Runs NYC Marathon
Everyday I find myself amazed at how determined people can be when it comes to accomplishing their dreams. Imagine being trapped in a mine for 69 days yet still you continue your training for a marathon. Edison did just that and recently completed the New York Marathon:
Edison Pena crossed the Central Park finish line at 3:24 p.m., with a time of 5 hours, 40 minutes, 51 seconds. The Elvis fan was draped in a Chilean flag as Presley songs played over the speakers.
Pena's personal victory came just weeks after he was still training in near-darkness, jogging 6 or 7 miles each day 2,300 feet underground in stifling heat and humidity.

The next time you find yourself giving up on your dream just think about Edison and how he followed his dream despite being trapped in a mine for 69 days.
