Have You Been Brave Enough To Make It Down 45th In Amarillo?

I get why we have roadwork. I understand that maintenance and improvements are just a part of life. Still, you have to be brave to travel through this on regular basis.

Construction On 45th Is A Nightmare

Remember when we mentioned the construction on Western and how awful it was? It appears that the traffic cone epidemic has spread onto 45th. All I wanted to do was get to the bank.

It Started Innocently Enough With Closed Lanes

At first I was a little annoyed. The lane I was in was ending and I had to get over. No big deal really. Until I kept moving over, and kept moving over.

Pretty soon, I realized I made a poor choice thinking I would be able to just go down 45th to get to the bank.

Holy One Lane Of Traffic Batman

It became apparent that I should abandon any hopes of this being a quick run to the money house. Traffic was backed up, and we were all down to one lane.

Bet you'll never guess which intersection it was.

Western Is A Drag To Drive Down

And not in the good way. Earlier this afternoon, I drove down Western. That's my fault. I completely forgot about the nightmare awaiting me.

Sure enough, as we came to the intersection of 45th and Western, I was reminded of why I should have taken another route.

Hopefully this will over sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, I travel on Western and 45th more than I would like. Hopefully by the time you read this, the construction is magically finished and the cones are gone.
