The Internet is a treasure trove of knowledge. The whole of everything we know as humans exists online. If there's something you're looking for, you'll find it. Sometimes, though, the information you find is a little...misleading.

We've seen the beaches of Amarillo, the snow covered mountains of Amarillo, and now the beautiful resorts of Amarillo.

Another Wacky Video List On The Internet

I was taken aback by the title of the video.

"Top 10 Best Resorts to Visit in Amarillo, Texas"

I'm not saying that we don't have some nice places to stay around here. We have some amazing Airbnbs, bed and breakfasts, and plenty of spots to go camping.

Resorts, though? I don't know that I would call much of what we have "resorts." A resort is a self contained destination that includes things like shopping, activities, dining options, and usually tries to cater to every single need a traveler could have.

Wiki Peaks, I'd Like To Speak To Your Manager Please

The list is pretty much nothing but hotels. The only thing that even remotely qualifies as a resort on their list is The Big Texan, which is still a far cry from a Sandals.

The video is narrated by some less than inspiring text-to-speech software. The entries on the list are things like the Drury Inn & Suites. The whole thing is a Twilight Zone-esque fever dream.

Here is what they show in the video.

Not the same. Definitely not a resort, though I've stayed there and can recommend it.

None of these places in the video sell an all inclusive package that comes with drinks and snorkeling. There's no excursion included in your stay, unless you count walking over to The Big Texan to try your hand at the 72oz steak.

Some of the photos are hilariously way off. Driving around town, you'll be hard pressed to find an abundance of palm trees. This is the Texas panhandle, not Tahiti.

Sorry to bust your bubble.

Don't Believe Everything You Read Or See On The Web

In several cases, the blatant misinformation regarding Amarillo is all part of a joke. It might not be the funniest one you've ever heard, but it's still just a joke.

This is no joke. This is honestly just a horribly titled video.

Sorry if you were hoping to get a massage, facial with cucumber slices, mud bath, and scuba adventure included with your stay at "The Big Texan Motel" in Amarillo.
