Historic Texas Panhandle Hotel Hosts Massive Benefit For Paxton
Hotel Turkey in Turkey, Texas is an iconic and historic part of our region. The hotel has an incredible history. It all started in 1927. Before the hotel could be completed, it got slammed by a tornado. Not to be deterred, construction resumed and a few months later the hotel was open. This weekend, it's the site of a massive benefit bringing together several amazing artists for a great cause.
The Paxton Barclay Benefit Concert At Hotel Turkey on June 30
This Sunday at Hotel Turkey, several fantastic artists will gather to perform at a benefit concert for Paxton Barclay. Paxton is 7 years old and is currently fighting DIPG. He has a long road ahead of him as he continues his fight at Cook Children's Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital. This benefit concert is to help his family with the resources they need to keep up that fight.
Proceeds from the event are going to Paxton. All ticket sale proceeds? Going to Paxton. Bar and food sales from the hotel? Going to Paxton. There will be an auction, and the proceeds from it? Going to Paxton. All proceeds are going to Paxton. So, you get to have a good time and know that the money you're spending is going to help a 7 year old in the fight of his life.
Who Will Be Performing At Hotel Turkey On June 30?
The lineup is already impressive, and there are rumors of a special guest that hasn't been announced yet. I have my theories on who it might be, and if it turns out I'm right...you don't want to miss it.
So far we know that performers include:
- Red Shahan
- Grady Spencer
- Thomas Csorba
- Erick Willis
- Gone Country
...and many more. The event starts at noon and is slated to go until 9 PM. Tickets are $25, which isn't bad considering the amount of entertainment you're going to get. If you're looking for something to do this weekend and don't mind getting out of town for a bit, this is a solid choice. Bonus points for the fact that it goes to a great cause.
