More Local Amarillo Restaurants Struggling at Start of the Year
It's no secret that money has been tight in Amarillo. Everything has been costing us a lot more lately. This could really have put a damper on our money to go out to eat on. That has then started to hurt some of our local restaurants.
Nine Line BBQ was the first to take to social media about the stress and ask for help.

Amarillo loves to help out if they can. There have been many times when a restaurant has closed, and we have wished that we had known they were struggling. If we had, maybe we could have been part of the solution.
Since the post came out about Nine Line BBQ there have been others to take to social media to let us in on the struggle. Nine Line started it off and continued by passing on more information about another place struggling:
They are not the only ones. Local places need you to step up and visit. From Yolanda at Yolo's:
Times are tough on a lot of local businesses this time of year. We are all working hard to keep those doors open. We hope you will choose local when dining out. Let us serve you some delicious Breakfast Brunch Coffee and Lunch at Yolos...316 Sw 6th 7 am-2 pm
Even Jim from Green Chile Willy's says they are struggling:
We are all struggling. The last 3 weeks have been our worst in years. January is already the slowest month of the year for food service, and we are way below average. Please support small local businesses.
Tonya from Pescaraz feels the pain:
We are seeing an extremely hard hit here at Pescaraz Italian Restaurant as well. It’s very sad looking at a half-full dining room. I’m not sure why this is happening for any of us. I know so many local BUSINESSES ( not just food) here in Amarillo are having to make hard decisions right now.
January is always tough since people are recovering from the holidays but when you throw in crazy weather that also hurts. So as you make your plans and if grabbing a meal is a part of it help our local places out.
