
Dos Gringos Fireworks Building Life-Size Optimus Prime Statue in Amarillo
As the fourth of July came and went, something descended into Amarillo. It's possible that during all the fireworks, this thing snuck its way into Amarillo and landed at Dos Gringos.
It seems to be some sort of alien life form, determined to keep those in Amarillo safe from other invaders. This new visitor is now calling Dos Gringos in Amarillo home. It seems a fireworks store may be the perfect place to call home, since he may need to call his friends in for backup.
A New Visitor Lands in Amarillo
Optimus Prime has made his way into Amarillo and is now calling Dos Gringos Fireworks home. After he descended from Cybertron, he will be keeping watch over Amarillo and Canyon, and those out on FM 2450.

Where to Find the New Landmark
A new Amarillo landmark is being erected at Dos Gringos Fireworks, located at 11851 FM 2590. His legs are up, and soon the new statue will be a full replica of Optimus Prime.

Joining Amarillo's Landmark Lineup
For those who grew up watching Transformers and rooting for the Autobots, this will bring some nostalgia to your life. This new Optimus Prime replica has the potential to become a new Amarillo landmark like the Ozymandias, Cadillac Ranch, Bug Ranch, and Tex Randall.
It will be perfect for photo ops and is definitely Insta-friendly.

After Optimus Prime received its finishing touches and welds, it is fully erected.

However, Optimus Prime won't be the only one joining in on the fun. Dos Gringos will soon have Megatron, Bumblebee, Alien, and Predator.
It will be a must-visit stop for those touring Amarillo or for residents in the area.

A New Store, A New Neighbor
Dos Gringos opened its new fireworks store location in June 2026, just in time for the 4th of July. This new location gives folks a place to purchase fireworks during the sales windows, and now, a special visitor to check out.
