  • Reserve campsites or lodging in advance, especially during Spring Break and peak seasons
  • Purchase park passes ahead of time or confirm if your park accepts digital passes
  • Pack for changing weather, including warm layers for cold nights and lighter clothes for daytime
  • Bring plenty of water and snacks, even for short hikes
  • Download maps ahead of time since cell service can be limited or nonexistent
  • Wear proper footwear suitable for hiking and uneven terrain
  • Pack a basic first-aid kit and any necessary medications
  • Bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect against sun exposure
