It's supposed to be winter in Amarillo. Right now, it feels more like spring. With warm temperatures, you still crave comfort food. Comfort food around here includes chili, and it’s that time of year in Amarillo for the annual chili competition.
As mentioned earlier, eating chili just hits better when it is cold. The good news is, colder temperatures are coming to Amarillo this weekend, just in time for the Tri-State Open Chili Championship (known by many as the Make-A-Wish Chili Cook-Off), which is happening this weekend.

When and Where Is the Make-A-Wish Chili Cook-Off?
The tradition continues this Saturday, January 10, at the Rex Baxter Building on the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds. Doors will open at 11:30 am.
How Much Does It Cost to Attend the Chili Cook-Off?
Admission is free; however, if you want a tasting cup, it will cost you $5 per cup. They are reusable, so you'll just need to purchase a cup for everyone in your party.
