Jamie Dornan Wants to Play Golf, Change Diapers + Stop Tying Women Up
Jamie Dornan, soon to be stratospherically famous for playing Christian Grey in the film adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' needs a day off.
The actor, who has gained a new level of Hollywood interest since nabbing the role of the S&M practitioner and billionaire Christian Grey, wants a break. He wants to play golf, change diapers and, for God's sake, to stop tying women up.
Ah, he's earned the right!
It's been a crazy year for the Irish actor, with the film hype and his new role as father to a baby girl born in November to he and wife Amelia Warner. That's to say nothing of his mention on the Lindsay Lohan Lovers List.
Dornan told The Guardian UK that he is "tired"-- twice. "Right now I don't need to work if there's nothing that I want to do," he said, which is a nice problem for an actor to have. "I've done three jobs back-to-back. Let's see how they are received. If there's nothing I want to do, I'll just play golf and change [diapers]."
He joked that while he has picked up new knot-tying skills as Grey, he'd like to not tie women up for a living, at least for a hot minute. "There are a couple of classic knots I know now and I've put them to good use far too many times recently," he said. "In fact, I'd like to do a job where I don't have to tie women to beds."
Dornan, a former Calvin Klein model, will next play a serial killer in BBC series 'The Fall.'
While he is happy to have had a busy professional year, it came with lots and lots of hard work through the years. "Although it looks like I've only been acting a few years, we're talking hundreds and hundreds of failed auditions," he said. "I look back on it now and I don't know how anyone gets through the rejection."
Well, he made it through all those "nos" and can expect an unprecedented level of fame and hype next February when the film hits the multiplex.
