Maroon 5 to Perform at Grammy Nominations Concert
Maroon 5 is the first artist to be announced as a performer at the 'Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! -- Countdown to Music's Biggest Night.'
The two-time Grammy winning band will be a part of the one-hour special, hosted by LL Cool J. The event will feature nominee announcements, as well as featured performances, airing live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. on CBS on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 10PM EST. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
"We are excited for the opportunity to bring 'The Grammy Nominations Concert Special Live!!' to Nashville this year as we recognize our nominees for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards," Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said in a press release. "Nashville's rich musical and cultural history is so important and vital to our industry, and indeed to the world -- a fact The Academy has recognized for decades by locating one of our most thriving and active Chapters there. We look forward to celebrating the year in music in such a passionate, vibrant, and flourishing city."
The televised concert special marks the fifth time that the Grammy nominations have been announced live on primetime television. LL Cool J has been tapped as the host for the program since 2008, and was also booked as the host for the 2012 GRAMMY Awards. There's no word yet on whether he will host the Grammys again in 2013.
