Today marks the one-year remembrance of the fire that destroyed our home office in downtown Amarillo. This past year has been a time of great stress, uncertainty, and grieving for what has been lost. And along with COVID-19, It has also been a year when the work that we are doing is at its most critical.

After being displaced by the fire and in response to COVID-19, we quickly changed and adapted to continue to deliver the vital services we provide, especially to those who are most vulnerable. Our team members have stepped up to excel at the work they do. We could not have done this without you- our supporters. If it were not for you, we would not be open for business today. And thanks to your help, even now assessments of our new building located at 2209 SW 7th in Amarillo are being conducted to prepare for the work that needs to be completed to move in. We look forward to a new beginning in our new Main Office and Veterans Resource Center.

On behalf of our board of directors, our staff, and most importantly the people we serve- thank you. You have inspired us to continue the work we do, and we appreciate you. We are all going to continue to get through this, together. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

And as far as the team at FSS: as we said in the first image we posted after the fire one year ago today- we will rise from these ashes.

Family Support Services is preparing for a move into a new headquarters for both their main office and Veterans Resource Center.
