Do you ever have one of those great weekends?  You know those weekends where you really don't do anything spectacular, but they end up being amazing.  I had one of those weekends.  It was a weekend where it reminded you that sometimes, you just have to do the things in life that made you happy when you were younger.

The weekend started off with me spending time with my boyfriend, which is always fun to do, we went over to his friend's house and just hung out.  They had nachos for dinner and then we all went outside and sat around the fire pit.

Do you remember as a kid how much fun it was to sit around a fire and roast marshmallows.  I do and I loved it.  So they busted out the marshmallows, the graham crackers and the Hershey bars.

So here I am with my stick and my marshmallows over the fire getting the perfect toast on them.  Getting a marshmallow toasted perfectly takes time and patience and when you do, it is so worth it.  As I was slowly turning those marshmallows I remember thinking this is a perfect moment.  Something that made me happy as a kid made me happy as an adult.   Plus, you can never go wrong sitting around a fire and just talking.  It's an awesome feeling up until the point the rain starts pouring down.  So much for a fire.

Then on Saturday something just as fun happened.  We were all sitting around watching someone grill up hamburgers and hot dogs.  Josh walks up to me and hands me this little flower he picked.  It was small and cute and just a sweet gesture.  "Flower for m'lady."  It made me smile. I looked at him and said, "you know I'm gonna keep this, right?"

Then later when we were done with lunch we all crowded around the Wii and played Mario Kart.  Here we are 4 adults in battle trying to find out who is the best at Mario Kart.  Let me just say, it wasn't me.  I came in last every single time.   Then we all gathered round the TV later that evening to cheer on the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

I guess the point that I'm trying to get across is sometimes it is the little things that make life perfect.  A tiny flower, roasting marshmallows, playing the Wii.  I think sometimes that, we as adults, forget to enjoy life's little simple pleasures.  Sometimes we have to look at life as a kid would.  When you do those things, you remember just how much fun it was, and how much fun it still is, to enjoy those little things.

It kind of gives you a new outlook.  So I hope you take the time to enjoy those little things you used to do that made you happy.  Hopefully, you can share those moments with the people you love.

So what simple pleasure in life do you enjoy.  What did you used to love to do as a kid that you would love to do as an adult?
