The Amarillo Police Department is participating for the 3rd time in National Night Out, Tuesday, October 3rd. The event is to raise awareness of police and community relationships by meeting your neighbors and the police officers who protect and serve our city.

It's an opportunity to reach out to your neighbors and bridge a relationship with The Amarillo Police Department. This year, there are several Amarillo residents who will host neighborhood gathering in their homes, where people can gather and meet police officers.

Amarillo Police Department Corporal Jeb Hilton said people rarely get the opportunity to connect due to their busy schedules. This yearly event gives folks a chance to socialize in a comfortable setting and shake hands with our men and women in blue.

Here is a link to the neighborhood gatherings. If yours is not included, you are welcome to attend the one closest to you.

"We want you to get out of your house, turn on all your lights, lock your doors, and meet your neighbors, get outside and build the camaraderie," Hilton said.
