Southeast Park

As a parent here in Amarillo you really have a tough job. I mean you have to provide everything for those precious children. There is the food, the shelter, the clothes just to name a few.

I say that but I like the fact that this is a hidden gem. Ok, maybe it is not hidden. I mean it's a park and it is in plain sight. I just don't think people take advantage of it as they should.

Amarillo doesn't seem like the place that you would really go out and start looking for pelicans. They are really not native to the Amarillo area. I love Amarillo and all but pelicans don't naturally decide Amarillo is the place to hang out.

Looking at the calendar we have just under a month left of summer. In the summer we have so many fun outdoor activities to take advantage of. It is easier to stay fit because we are moving around a lot more.

We are learning of a spill from Amarillo's Wastewater Lift Station # 32 that has filled Southeast Park and the lake with over 400,000 gallons of wastewater.

It reads like a story from a true crime novel. A man is found murdered in his car, in a park, with no known witnesses. Now, Amarillo Crime Stoppers needs your help.

Tuesday afternoon, Amarillo Police were called to Southeast Park for a welfare check and discovered a body with apparent gunshot wounds.
