It was a great first week of high school football in the Texas Panhandle.

The boys of fall are back on the field for the 2016 season. The bright lights of Dick Bivins and Kimbrough stadiums will go on every Thursday and Friday night for one of the best things about fall.

Last week, Amarillo and Canyon ISD started their seasons.

Tascosa and Palo Duro played each other on Thursday, August 25th. Tascosa prevailed with the final score being 44-14.

On Friday, Canyon took home a win against the Brownwood Lions. The final score was 20-17. Caprock played Big Spring and won 37-12.

As for the district teams, Hereford lost to the Lubbock Estacado Matadors and Dumas prevailed over Perryton on Friday.
