There’s One Thing We Can All Agree We Love In The Texas Panhandle

Moving to the Texas panhandle isn't what you think it is. There's more diversity in cultures in the panhandle than you might expect. There are numerous walks of life and ways of living and a vast array of world views. While some may focus on what makes us different, there is one thing that we can all agree on in the Texas panhandle. It's even a bit of an obsession for most.

Everyone Loves A Texas Panhandle Sunset Or Sunrise

Say what you will about the Texas panhandle, but you can't deny there's something majestic about watching the sun rise and set out here. Our wide open spaces create a giant canvas that nature casts a dazzling array of colors every single day.

Get on any social media platform that exists and you'll find tons of photos of Texas panhandle sunrises and sunsets. People can't get enough of them. The best part is that no two photos are the same. There's always something special about the way the sky lights up at dawn and at dusk. You can't blame people for appearing to be obsessed.

If you're new to the area, you might think it's a little funny at first. Soon, though, you'll be another one of those who marvel every morning and every night. It happens to most of us. I remember when it happened to me.

What Is The Best Spot For Seeing The Sunrise And Sunset In The Texas Panhandle?

The best place to see the sunrise or sunset is anywhere that isn't cluttered up with buildings. Head out of town and get yourself a proper view of it. In town, the colors in the sky can be pretty, but there's nothing like being miles away from it all and watching the show in all its glory.

I love going to Lake Meredith to catch the sunrise and sunset. I like to get there sometime before sunset, camp, and then wake up to watch the sunrise. It's usually pretty quiet at Lake Meredith if you find the right spot, which makes it the perfect place to just sit and take it all in. Plus, Lake Meredith gets bonus points for the way a sunrise or sunset reflects off the water. It's my favorite, hands down.

We may argue and fight a lot. We may not always see eye-to-eye. Heck, people might even say my sunrise and sunset photos suck...but it's only because they love them so much and think I could do better at doing them justice.
