You may be scratching your head wondering if you read the headline right. You did. Apparently, we're living in the Lone Star land of milk and honey. The science is in, and if you're looking to make a move in Texas, the panhandle is apparently the place to be.

The Texas panhandle recently won big in a study of the best Texas counties to live in.

Moving To Texas? Apparently The Panhandle Is The Place To Be

Yes, it is a bit shocking. While we all have a special place in our heart for our shared home, it isn't often that you see science backing us up on our panhandle preference.

According to a self described scientific study done by the good people at HomeSnacks, three of the top five counties in Texas to live in are in the Texas panhandle.

They looked at stats regarding crime, cost of living, and several other metrics to come up with their list.

Carson County Was 4th In Best Texas Counties

Carson County came in 4th place out of all the counties in Texas. Apparently, if you're wanting to live in the Texas panhandle, you could do a lot worse than Carson County.

If you're trying to place Carson County, think Panhandle. Not to be confused with Panhanndle. One of those is a real place. The other is an unfortunate typo or possible hidden religious commune, though that last part is hard to confirm since it is hidden so well.

The jury is still out.

Randall County scooped up 3rd place in the list. Of course, we're all familiar with Randall County. Part of Amarillo is in Randall County, and it is home to Canyon and WTAMU.

The Best County In Texas To Live In Is...

Armstrong County according to their scientific research over at HomeSnacks. Honestly. Click this link and see for yourself.

If you're having a hard time placing Armstrong County in your mind, think Claude. If you've ever been on 287 heading east, you've been through Claude. There isn't much, but maybe that's what makes it such a great place to live.

You can see the rest of the list and see where other counties in Texas landed in the rankings by following this link to their study, and congrats to Armstrong County for bringing home the metaphorical gold.

Teeny Tiny Towns of the Texas Panhandle

Don't blink! You just might miss these TINY towns that are dotted around the Texas Panhandle.

Some of these are unincorporated communities and some of these are just plain ol' small!

Either way, these teensy weensy tiny towns and their populations will make you say "wow" (and maybe even squint and say "that's all!?"). Check them out:

LOOK: Texas Towns With Names From All Over the World

You can be a globetrotter....without ever crossing the Texas state line!

All you have to do is make sure you've got some gas money on hand and you can hit the highway to visit these not-so-exotic Texas towns!

Can You Guess These Towns From Their Satellite Photos?

I'm always down for a good brain challenge. This one however got the best of me.
It's always a fun time looking up address or cities and seeing them from a satellite point of view. You start pointing out landmarks and things you recognize.

One thing you don't account for however is something looking bigger or smaller than you seemed to think it was. So we started grabbing a bunch of these satellite pictures of cities and towns around Amarillo.

As we looked at them, we thought to ourselves, "how fun would this be to actually have to GUESS what these places are?". So away we went.

Go ahead and try to see how many you can guess correctly!
