Texas is a big place. The Lone Star State has everything from deserts to beaches; mountains to forests and swamps. Texas has it all. Maybe that's the reason why it's one of the top 10 places for you to have a sighting of Bigfoot.

East and Southeast Texas are the regions of the Lone Star State with the most reported sightings. There are legends in the Big Thicket of Ol' Mossy Back or the Wildman of the Big Thicket. Jefferson, Texas is considered the Bigfoot capital of the Lone Star State.

Sightings of Bigfoot aren't only in the eastern portion of the state, though. West Texas has its legends and stories, and even Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas panhandle has a few sightings.

According to their findings, Texas ranks 7th in the nation for being the place where you are most likely to have a Bigfoot sighting. The state that gives you the best chances of getting your own out-of-focus photo of Sasquatch is Washington, which makes a lot of sense. There are a ton of trees there and Bigfoot's haircut suggests that it is a fan of grunge.

If you're ever in East Texas, be on the lookout. That big hairy thing running through the trees could be more than just one of the locals...it could be Bigfoot.
