U.S. Capitol and White House On Lock Down After Shooting
Several different reports have been made regarding a possible shooting at or around the United States Capitol.
According to various news sources, the Capitol complex in Washington, D.C, has been locked down after a shooting was reported in the Capitol Visitor's Center.
Associated Press reported that a police officer was shot but is not in critical condition. The shooter is allegedly in custody.
Everyone inside the Capitol complex was told to stay in place and not leave their offices.
The White House was also put on lock down. President Obama is hosting his last Easter Egg Roll at the White House today, so everyone in attendance was prohibited from leaving the grounds.
Thousands of tourists visit the U.S. Capitol every day, but it is a particularly busy time of year with Spring Break and the Cherry Blossom Festival. The CVC turned away crowds of visitors during the lock down, according to Associated Press.
