When Will Amarillo Texas See Its First Snow? It Could Be Soon!
The weather seems absolutely unpredictable in the Texas panhandle, but that doesn't stop us from trying to figure out what to expect. Using our supreme powers of divination (consulting the Farmer's Almanac), it looks like we could seeing snow sooner, rather than later, this year.
When will Amarillo see our first snow? It could be very soon.
Of course, you might want to take this with a grain of salt. The Texas panhandle weather does whatever it pleases, when it pleases. The forecast could call for snow, and we'll wind up with a heat wave.
That being said, it never hurts to look ahead and prepare for the possibilities. So, when can we expect our first snowfall?
How about next month? Does snow in October sound fun for you?
Even better, the date range for snow in the high plains starts on October 10, 2023 and goes through October 16.
While we don't have an exact date, it is enough to make me think it's time to pull out the winter clothes, put away the flip-flops, and get ready for the cold.
If you're not a fan of snow and cold weather, and are a big fan of Halloween, I've got some good news just for you. According to the Farmer's Almanac, Halloween has the potential to be frightfully nice (I couldn't help myself). They're calling for it to be sunny and warm while everyone is trick-or-treating.
Even though there's no guarantee that we'll be seeing snow in the very near future, it is a good reminder to get your vehicle and house ready for the cold. Get your vehicle looked at and make sure it's winter ready. Think ahead about what you need to do to get your home winter ready.
