Here is some good news. West Texas A&M University is continuing its 2021 theatre season with the ancient Greek classic, the tragedy "Phaedra" will be presented via streaming starting on Feb. 12.

The story about Theseus’ queen, Phaedra, fell in love with Hippolytus. When Phaedra’s passion was revealed to him, he reacted with such revulsion that she killed herself, leaving a note accusing Hippolytus of having tried to rape her.

The WTAMU production features Lauren Landtroop as Phaedra, a queen married to a king - though she secretly harbors feelings for his son.

When her husband dies, Phaedra is encouraged to act on her feelings, despite the fact that the object of her affection loves someone else.

Members of the cast include:

Isaiah Johnson as Theseus

Jalen Barrera as Theramenes

Kaitlin Wampler as Ismene

Maggie Connick as Panope

Kyle Gentry and Kendall Carnahan as guards.

The show will be available for streaming on Feb. 12 and 13.
