In a multi juridical sting 5 Amarillo people were arrested for online solicitation targeting minors December 10 and 11. A Texas Department of Public Safety release, DPS Special Agents, Amarillo Police Department officers, the Hutchinson County and Carson County Sheriff's Offices and the Randall County District Attorney's Office arrested multiple suspects for online solicitation of a minor involving sexual conduct.

The suspects were arrested after arriving at a specific location after soliciting sex online from authorities posing as minors.

The following suspects were identified as suspects arrested during the operation:

21-year-old Nicolas Vaughn, of Amarillo

44-year-old Alejandro Desantiago, of Amarillo

32-year-old Eduardo Montes, of Amarillo

25-year-old Tristan Broyles, of Amarillo

61-year-old Charles Cogswell, of Amarillo

All the offenders were processed at the Randall County Jail.

Under Texas law, an adult over age 17 who uses the Internet to solicit a minor to engage in sexual conduct with that adult or with another person can be charged with a second-degree felony. Second-degree felonies are punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
