Amarillo Is Being Asked To Go All In, Shelter At Home
Earlier today, Mayor Nelson addressed the city and informed us of two developments. One, the Covid-19 threat level had been raised to red; and two, that the city of Amarillo would be asked to shelter in place.
The City of Amarillo's Facebook page summarized everything earlier today. You can see the post below.
What all of this means is that you shouldn't leave the house unless it is absolutely necessary. The Mayor did call on people to not panic buy supplies as grocery stores will remain open during this time.
The Mayor also pointed out things we will be able to leave the house for. She even encouraged outdoor activities like hiking, while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
The stay at home order, or as they called it "going all in," will last for two weeks.
You can watch the Mayor's announcement below.
Let's stay optimistic. Let's focus on getting through this together. Keep a level head, don't panic, and we'll be fine.
