With the warmer spring weather here and COVID-19 not even reaching it's peak here in the Texas Panhandle, local municipal golf courses will be allowed to open on Friday with limitations.

Ross Rogers, Comanche Trail and Amarillo municipal golf courses will all be allowed to operate under the requirement to follow social distancing and proper sanitation rules. The rules are based on a guidance letter provided by Governor Abbott and the Texas Attorney General.

The rules to golf in Amarillo are as follows:

No walk-up play allowed at this time. Golfers must call or go online to reserve a tee time.

Group sizes are limited to a maximum of four people.

Walking play only. No golf carts will be allowed.

Green fee play only. No tournaments allowed at this time.

Green fees will be taken outside to avoid gathering indoors.

Driving ranges are closed at this time.

Pro shops are closed until further notice.

Curbside food and beverage service is available.

Flag sticks will remain in place at all times.

No bunker rakes, ball-washing stations or drinking fountains
