I remember the day I first met Andrew Brandt. I was working at the Amarillo Sox Stadium running the ticket window and also behind the mic working on the field. We were having computer issues and in walked Andrew to fix the problem.

I liked him from the beginning. He was a smart aleck just like me.  We gave each other a bunch of crap. The way I liked it. We have been friends over the years and he would be my first call whenever I had computer issues.

It blew my mind when I realized he was an author. Oh, and it shouldn't have come as a surprise that he is actually a very talented writer. He has actually won awards. His books are definitely the kind I would enjoy reading. I have them on my list of 'to do" when I get some time. Really.

He has a new book coming out this fall titled "Picture Unavailable" which looks very interesting.

I was excited when I saw that not only is Barnes and Noble here in Amarillo having their first book signing event in over two years. Thanks a lot Covid. It was great to see that they asked Andrew to be the one at the first signing.

I have no doubt if you show up on May 14th to meet Andrew that he will make you laugh a time or two. He just has that kind of personality. I love watching him on Facebook teaching his daughter the importance of reading.

If that is not enough even the Amarillo Public Library is getting in on the action with their own chance for you to talk to him.

I love this so much for my friend. I think this is a great opportunity to not only go and meet with Andrew but to also grab a book at one of his events. You can find out how talented you can be here in Amarillo. Andrew is showing us just that.
