Balloon Festival Heading Back to Amarillo in September
Hot Air Balloons are just so cool to look at. That is why so many people flock to Albuquerque for the Balloon Festival there. What can you do if you don't live near there or don't want to drive the four hours it takes? Don't worry Amarillo has something to offer you.
The Up in the Air Balloon Rally is back to benefit Family Care Foundation. There are many days of many balloons that you can find all over Amarillo. It is such a neat sight to see.
The fun will kick off on Friday, September 10th with balloons flying from the Happy State Bank on Coulter, there will also be other balloons at our area schools starting at 7:30am. The fun is not done because there will be more chances to see balloons on Saturday morning out at Ascension Academy. There will also be a sunrise service and food vendors out at Ascension.
That night is when the real fun begins. The Up in the Air Balloon Rally will be that night out at Starlight Ranch. There will be all sorts of live music from local bands. There will be a fun play area for the kiddos with bounce houses and carnival games. Don't worry about the food because of course there will be food trucks and vendors to satisfy your every need. The gates for all the fun opens at 4pm.
The big act will be a Bon Jovi Tribute band "Blaze of Glory". Admission for kiddos under 14 will be free. All the money raised will benefit Family Care Foundation and all the great things they do. You can read about it HERE.
At around 8pm that is when the balloons will glow. Oh and what a beautiful site it really is. There will be the likes of Annie the Ladybug, Joelly the bee, Spyderpig, Sloth, Lion and many more. Oh the kids are going to love it. Oh and you will love the sites too.
So as your kids are getting back to school just know there is still a lot of fun to be had while helping out Family Care Foundation.
