Family Support Services Cancels Upcoming Harley Party
As if Family Support Services has not been hit enough this year. First a fire that closed their location in Downtown Amarillo earlier this year and now this. In an announcement yesterday they have had to cancel this years Harley Party.
The Harley Party has become a staple in Downtown Amarillo every July. People buy a ticket to the reverse drawing, Each ticket gets two people into the party where there is food and drink. The last ticket standing always wins a brand new Harley Davidson. It has always been a good time every time that I attended.
In their announcement on social media Family Support Services Said:
To Our Loyal Supporters of the Original Harley Party
At this time, we regretfully announce that this year's Original Harley Party has been cancelled. The safety of our guests, volunteers, and staff is our primary concern. In addition, we have no way to know when Amarillo will reopen for large gatherings. We generally spend 4-6 months planning the party so that we can provide a top quality experience for attendees and successful fundraiser for Family Support Services. In the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, that is not possible this year. Many of our sponsors, ticket buyers, and vendors are hurting financially during this difficult time for all of us. We will you all the best and hope for a full, safe reopening soon. We plan to come back bigger and even better next year and hope you will plan to join us. Mark your calendar now for July 31, 2021.
Now they go to to address how hard this year has been on them this year with the fire and them moving locations.
In the meantime , your continued support of FSS is most appreciated. Between the devastating fire in January, COVID-19, and now the loss of our major fundraiser, this has been the most challenging year in our history of helping those who need us most. With your support, we will continue to serve domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, at-risk children, veterans, struggling families, those with mental health issues, and thousands of others each year. Thank your for your understanding.
So if you are able to help out a non-profit in need....this may be one that could really use it. You can go to their website HERE or give them a call at 80+-342-2500.
