It seems a recurring theme for my health tip seems to be ways to get more sleep, better sleep, or to just fall and stay asleep.

It seems more and more that we just can't accomplish that.

So here are a list of foods that will help you get that sleep you need.

So one thing that is good for your sleep habits is tart cherries. Just drinking some tart cherry juice before sleep can help you tremendously. Tart cherries contain significant amounts of anti-inflammatory substances and melatonin.

Jasmine rice is another good item to add to your diet to promote those sleep habits. Jasmine rice is higher on the GI scale, triggering a release of insulin which drives the sleep-inducing amino acid tryptophan into the brain. A study has found that consuming jasmine rice 4 hours before bedtime significantly improved sleep quality.

If you like kiwi, you are in luck. It is packed with vitamins C, E, folate, and the happy-happy brain chemical, serotonin, kiwis are a surprisingly powerful bedtime fruit. There was a study done that shows if you eat 2 kiwis a day for four weeks helped you fall asleep easier. That is worth a try.

So however you decide to try to get that much needed sleep, it might be worth trying to add one or two of these foods. What would it hurt? It may get you a great nights sleep and that is worth it!
