In East Texas, fast food restaurants rule the landscape! Drive down nearly any major or secondary artery and you'll pass a fast food joint!

This Friday, November 16th, American's can celebrate the fast food restaurant on National Fast Food Day. On Friday, millions of us will be hitting up the drive thru, take out or go inside and sit down to a quick taco, burger, pizza, sub sandwich, chicken, coffee, ice cream or one of many other food options at one of the more than 300,000 fast food restaurants across the U.S.

If you were to take a look at my bank account, you would say that I and my family eat out way too much. Something to which my wife points out when we reconcile the statement! I know my family isn't the only family like this! After a long day at work and having to go to a practice or meeting of some kind that last thing I want to do is go home and cook dinner, which could take an additional 30 to 45 minutes to prepare and by that time we're eating around 9 p.m. I know you feel my pain and hitting up a drive thru is way easier.

According to Holidays Calendar, American's spent over $208 billion on fast food in 2017, where as it was only $6 billion in 1970 and will be over $225 billion by the year 2021. Now that's a lot of eating out and judging from the projection headed into 2021, we're not going to be slowing down anytime soon.

When it comes to fast food we all have our favorite place to hit up - whether it's a pizza joint, hamburger place, coffee shop or ice cream shop - our favorite place will most likely be getting some kind of money from us on National Fast Food Day!
