One of the things I love about Amarillo is our choices when it comes to going out to eat? I mean we have just about any type of food. You want Mexican food. We have you covered.
When I first moved to Amarillo there weren't a lot of places to get a good pizza. I am from Chicago so I know good pizza. I live all kinds. They don't have to be the Chicago style deep dish but a good pizza is important.
Amarillo has said hello and goodbye to a lot of places to eat recently. I am excited when we get new places opening up their doors to try. It's tough to keep a restaurant going. Especially with the challenges that have faced us with finding employees.
When was it that cheese got such a bad reputation? We are asked if we want to add cheese to our burger and we feel guilty if we really want to say yes. Why is it we feel cheese shamed?
We know what the term hangry means, right? We know that we get so hungry that our anger comes out. That is when we know that we need to get some food and pronto. It really is a thing.
Friday, October 9, is International Beer and Pizza Day, and what better way to celebrate then highlighting the best joints around Amarillo for beer and pizza.
This was one of those stories I really hated to see. I hate seeing any business close down but this is one that I have gone to many of times. See it is in Downtown Amarillo and right by one of my workplaces. So this was a bummer to see over the weekend happen.
So let me ask real fast...who likes pizza? Who likes good pizza? We have a lot of great local places to get pizza here in Amarillo. I feel when the competition goes like this we in Amarillo just get the win.
We need to step up and help our favorite restaurants. We live in a place where regardless of Covid we need to support our local businesses. A lot were hit hard back in March and here we go again the restaurants are taking a hit. It is hard to stay afloat when you can't open up all the way.
