We are so fortunate to have one of the coolest scenes in our country right here in the Texas panhandle. Palo Duro Canyon State Park is not only a cool place to sight-see, hike, bike, and picnic, but they also offer fun and educational programs all year long. If you are into bugs, you are going to love what I am about to tell you. Know, if you're not into the creepy crawly things, then don't worry, you will enjoy the second event on this list!

  • Join a master naturalist on an exploration of all this creepy and crawly in the canyon. The event is included with regular park admission and will be held at the Lonestar Amphitheater. Wear weather appropriate clothing and bring water.

  • Beginning at 9:30pm
  • The stars at night are big and bright... especially in the canyon! Discover how humans looked up to survive. The event is included with regular park admission and will take place at the Wolfberry Day Use Area. Dress for the weather, bring water, and camp chairs or blankets for sky viewing.
