Games, Celebrities, Cosplay at September Comic Con in Amarillo
Amarillo has historically had two "cons," right? There's AMA-Con and YC3. Of course, in 2020 we added the Curb A Con (which I originally thought was pronounced cur-bacon. It does not involve bacon). Now, it looks like we're getting another "con" this September.
It's the ConLive! Comic Con: Amarillo, Sep 25 - 26. It's going to be held at the Civic Center Complex.
Is There a New Convention In Town?
It was a little confusing to hear this news considering we've already had AMA-Con this year, Curb A Con's Halloween edition is lined up for this October, and YC3 had to postpone. By the way, YC3 has already announced their imminent return in 2022.
So where did this other "con" come from? Not sure, but there's supposedly a lot planned. Also, if you're unfamiliar with it that would probably be because this is its first year in town, according to the website.
Celebrity Appearances
According to the website, one of the celebrity guests will be Chris Cassamassa. You'll probably know Chris best from his work as Scorpion in the original Mortal Kombat movie. TNA wrestler Velvet Sky will also be there.
Anne Yatco and Adam McArthur are also scheduled to appear according to the website.
There Will Be Vendors
The website touts 100s of vendors and exhibitors so you can get your collectible fix. I tried finding a list of vendors that will be there, but the exhibitors link just took me to a registration page to be a vendor, so no spoilers.
Cosplay and Video Games
There's also a cosplay contest advertised on the website, along with gaming. Not sure what the games are, but they do advertise prizes.
On the Facebook event page, one thing that caught my eye was a photo of some Dragon Ball Z props that will be there for you to take photos in. Here's a link for more info.
