Great News For Gamers; WAC In Amarillo Getting New Game Room
In a press release earlier this week, the City of Amarillo took a moment to shine a light on an all new and improved game room at the Warford Activity Center. They also took a moment to recognize the individual behind the art you'll see in the new game room.
New Game Room At Warford Activity Center
The new game room at Warford Activity Center is still "coming soon," according to the press release from the City. While it is still awaiting council approval, the finishing touches have been placed on it so that kids will have a nice space to go game and "get away from it all."
The press release states that the game room has been transformed into a video game haven. When you see the room, it's understandable why they would say that.
The Hidden Talents Of One Of Amarillo's Own
The press release really sings the praises of Callie Gorham. The 22-year-old artist is the one responsible for the art you'll see on the walls of the new game room.
The photos included with the press release were good in their own right, but when you see the art featured in the video (above), you get a better feel for the room. The art plays well with the neon lights throughout the room, and it makes for a really comfortable looking space.
What's even more interesting is that Callie hadn't even taken so much as an art class before tackling the project. In the press release, Callie is quoted as saying that the project has opened up a lot of possibilities, where art is concerned, for her.
Congrats to Callie on the project, and hopefully the new game room will be open sooner rather than later for the public to use.
