These next couple of days are just great. If you walk anywhere in Downtown Amarillo you are sure to smell all the goodness in the air.

Of course its the Amarillo Chamber Barbecue Cook-off that you are smelling. There are over 100 cook teams in and around the Chamber grounds preparing all the greatness for you tomorrow evening.

I love this time of year. I mean you know fall is basically here. when the streets are lined with cookers and cook teams. You know everyone will be there. You can't walk anywhere without running into someone you know.

The best thing is if you get your ticket before 3 pm today it will cost you less. So all the BBQ and all the drinks you can handle for only $30. If you wait until you get to the gate you are going to pay a bit more. It's still a good deal for $40.

Here are all the specifics but the gates open up at 5 pm. So just as you are leaving work you can head downtown. There are gates at 10th & Polk, 12th & Polk and 11th & Tyler/ Get there as soon as you can because all the fun ends at 8 pm when all the cook teams turn into pumpkins until next year.
